Creating and Managing Online Forms

Over the past decade, organizations have invested heavily in their online presence. Customers, partners and suppliers enjoy the convenience of accessing products or services through websites or portals wherever and whenever they want.

Online forms are the main interaction-interface for online communications or information gathering. But most organizations struggle to build, integrate and maintain these interactive forms; instead of connecting external visitors to internal applications, they are often too user-unfriendly or barely integrated with back-end applications. This results in customer frustration, costly paper-based processing, overloaded call centers, lengthy cycle times, costly errors and workarounds and missed opportunities.

During this seminar, you will get an insight in the powerful features of XForms and the advantages it offers for building user focused web forms. Furthermore, different product and demo sessions will offer an overview of the best of breed solutions in the market and show you the possibilities for webmasters and site-editors to create and maintain these forms.
The first session of this seminar will focus on a number of open source based implementations of the XForms specification like Orbeon, Chiba and some other solutions.

Microsoft offers its InfoPath Forms Services which is built on (and requires) Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. This server technology makes it possible for users to fill out InfoPath forms in a web browser, without them having to install the InfoPath client on their computer.

The last session will present the forms solutions from Adobe: by blending Adobe Forms, Adobe PDF and Adobe Flash based interfaces, the Adobe Livecycle ES software enables the creation of compelling forms for online and offline interactions.

All sessions include extended demonstrations.
